South Ribble Borough Council provide disabled facilities grants for disabled people of all ages to enable them to live independently. The Home Improvement Agency also provides a Handy persons service,gas safety checks,DIY and gardening services for the over 60's.

South Ribble Borough Council is no longer a stock holding authority having transferred its council housing stock in October 1994 to New Progress Housing Association.

The Council does not have many homes in multiple occupation but does have a rolling programme to inspect all private rented properties.
