Tickets for the event, which includes an afternoon tea, are priced at £5.00 for adults and £2.50 for under 10's. Tickets are available from the Mayors Office, telephone number (01772) 625 542.

The local charities which will benefit from the event are St Catherines Hospice, Lostock Hall; Tender Nursing Care, based in Bamber Bridge which provides respite for facilities for carers; and Rainbow House, a disabled children's charity in Eccleston.

Councillor Kath Beattie the Mayor of South Ribble, said:

"I would encourage anyone who can make it to this event to come along as these are always very pleasant social occasions. This is another opportunity for the people of South Ribbleto show how much pride they take in their local area, community and environment, by coming together in order to support a number of very important charities. Let's just hope that the sun shines so people can fully enjoy their day out."
