Abatement Notices to stop noise
If a formal investigation finds evidence of statutory noise nuisance, officers have a discretionary option to defer serving a noise abatement notice for 7 days if they think persuasion and mediation will engender greater co-operation or if they think serving an immediate notice will aggravate the situation and cause one of the parties to withdraw from negotiations

Advice to Contractors and Developers (Environmental Pollution)

Agressive Dogs
Reports of allegedly dangerous dogs can be made to the Canine Welfare Officers. Some complaints about aggressive dogs cannot be dealt with by the Council's Canine Welfare Officers. These will be passed quickly to the appropriate agency (e.g. the Police).

Allotment gardening provides a wide range of benefits to both communities and the environment. Local Authorities have a statutory requirement to provide allotments for the public and South Ribble Borough Council owns several sites which are administered by allotment societies.
