    Micro-chipping involves a painless injection between the shoulders that takes just a few seconds. The chip can survive for up to 20 years meaning that if your dog goes missing it has a greater chance of being found and returned to you.     The Local Plan is used to guide the Council’s day-to-day planning decisions and explains what type of development will normally be allowed and where. It was adopted by the council in Feb 2000 and substantially saved on 27th September 2007 with the exception of a small number of policies which are detailed in the attachment below. The Central Lancashire Core Strategy will take over from the South Ribble Local Plan, look at the Central Lancashire Core Strategy Page for more details.

  • Intestate deaths

    If somebody dies and it appears that suitable funeral arrangements have not been, or are not being made, the Local Authority has a responsibility to ensure the person receives a proper burial or cremation under Section 46 of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984. The Council is then entitled to recover the costs of the funeral from the estate of the deceased person.
