Land for housing development
The planning department conducts an annual survey of land with active planning permission for housing. From time to time it also assesses the potential for housing development on sites which do not currently have planning permission.

Landscape maintenance and improvement
The day to day management and maintenance of the borough's parks and green spaces is carried out by South Ribble's Neighbourhood Services Department. Leyland Market
