How do I make a planning applications?


Planning applications can be made through the Planning Portal

What happens to my application?


Once you have submitted your application online and the planning portal have received payment, you will receive an email receipt. This will contain both your unique payment reference number and your unique Planning Portal application reference number. Your application reference number should be quoted in all correspondence with your local authority regarding your application.

Is there a fee to submit a planning application?


Some planning applications do require fees, these will be detailed on submission of the application. The Planning Portal also charge an administration fee £16.67 + VAT for each application submitted, excluding applications which do not attract a planning application fee.

The Planning Portal fee calculator can be used to calculate the fees you are likely to pay when submitting an application.

How long does it take for you to receive my planning application?


Once an application has been successfully submitted through the Planning Portal, South Ribble Borough Council will receive the application on the same day.

When will I hear back regarding the status of the application?


Once we have received your application it will be validated and processed. You will receive an initial response within 5 working days.

How can I find out details of an application?


All applications submitted to us which meet certain criteria can be viewed via the council's Public Access for Planning System. Residents can sign up to receive alerts and view applications in their ward.

Can I comment on an Application?


Applications which are still in the consultancy phase can be commented on through the Public Access for Planning System.
