Central Lancashire Local Plan Issues and Options Consultation

The Central Lancashire Authorities of Preston City, South Ribble and Chorley are undertaking a review of the development plan(s) for the area and are working towards the preparation of a Joint Local Plan for Central Lancashire.

This will be a single Planning document containing the Council’s vision and objectives.

It will set strategic and local development management policies and site allocations for future development across the three authorities.

Once adopted, the Local Plan will guide the future growth and development in the Central Lancashire area and replace the Central Lancashire Core Strategy (adopted in 2012) and the Local Plans/Site Allocations and Development Management Policies of the 3 Central Lancashire Authorities (all adopted 2015).

We are now consulting on the first document to be prepared which will help to shape the policies developed in the Local Plan. This is called the ‘Central Lancashire Local Plan Issues and Options Consultation’.

Consultation on this document will run from Monday 18th November 2019 until Friday 14th February 2020.

There are a series of questions we would like you to consider answering as part of this consultation, but you only need to respond to those questions most relevant to you.

You can also go into your local library or post office* to look at this consultation and to get help to respond online.

We will also be holding a series of drop in events across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble during the consultation period where you can come and talk to us about the Local Plan.

A full list of the events and deposit points can be found on our website.

We encourage you to respond online to this consultation because it will be much easier for us to understand what you want to tell us, though if you need to respond to us in writing you can also find details as to how to do this on our website.

* NB: There are two post offices (the one on Leyland Lane in Leyland, and the one in Walton-le-Dale on Sandringham Road) at which the consultation is NOT available to view.
