County Council elections to take place in May

On Thursday 4 May, voters will go to the polls to elect their representatives to shape and decide on Lancashire County Council services which affect everyone living in the 12 district areas of Lancashire.

In South Ribble, we have eight electoral divisions and therefore our residents will be voting to elect eight county councillors.

County councillors are elected by the people and make important decisions affecting the lives of everyone in Lancashire.

Lancashire County Council provides around 85% of all local government services in Lancashire.

Services include education, fostering and adoption, health and social care, cultural services, libraries and archives, registering births, deaths and marriages, recycling and highways and transportation.

County elections are only held every four years, so it's important that you use your opportunity to cast your vote.
