A special day of activities is taking place to help people caring for those with dementia.
The event aims to give carers access to a wide range of services under one roof and they can also meet other carers.
Organised by South Ribble Dementia Action Alliance, the Carers Day takes place at Leyland Golf Club in Wigan Road, Leyland, from 11am to 3pm on Thursday 23rd February.
Many services, community groups and businesses can support people living with dementia and their carers, whether it be handling financial matters or making sure your home is adapted to suit your needs.
On the day, there will be more than 20 stands representing banks, solicitors, health services, charities and other organisations.
These include HSBC, Age Concern, Lancashire Wellbeing Service, Millercare, the Alzheimer’s Society, Chorley and South Ribble CCG Mental Health Team, Lancashire Care Falls Prevention Service and North West Ambulance Service.
Carers will be able to access lots of advice, support and help from representatives of these organisations.
There will be snacks and drinks provided free to all carers and, if you want to have lunch, we have arranged a discounted menu at the golf club’s restaurant.
Established last year, South Ribble Dementia Action Alliance is made up of organisations, such as South Ribble Borough Council, which are committed to helping people living with dementia and their carers in the borough.
