Farington & Lostock Hall in Bloom

Farington & Lostock Hall in Bloom 2017 is a community competition to add brightness, colour & community pride to Farington & Lostock Hall.

The committee would like more schools, churches, businesses, community groups & residents to get involved by improving & caring for their local environment through imaginative planting, landscaping & growing projects - they would love you to join in and enter too!

There are five categories to enter: -

  • Best Hanging Basket /Container – Domestic properties only – any size/design
  • Best Front Garden – Domestic properties only
  • Best Business Premises – Any commercial concern
  • Schools Challenge – Open to nurseries, primary & high schools - All entries must be an outdoor display with a ‘Recycling’ theme
  • Community Area – Any shared space

To celebrate the launch, the committee have organised an event on Tuesday 7 March 2017 between 6.30pm & 8pm at St Paul’ Church Hall, Church Lane, Farington. Come along & look at last year’s, see what categories there are for the competition this year or ask advice and help from Newgate Nurseries and Brothers of Charity (who both will bring a stall to sell their goods). The committee would love to see you. You can also enjoy a hot drink and slice of cake whilst meeting people with a similar hobby/interest.

All entries must be in by 5pm on Friday 2 June. You can collect & drop off entry forms at Malc’s Off-Licence & General Store on Hope Terrace, Lostock Hall or at Haydock Butchers, 66 Stanifield Lane, Farington.  Alternatively, you can apply on line using the following link:
