Council planning officers visit pupils at St Mary's Catholic High School in Leyland

Two of our planning officers dropped in on pupils at St Mary's Catholic High School in Leyland last week.

The session — which was originally billed as a 'Careers in Geography' session — actually touched on a plethora of different topics: town planning, the role of council planning officers, and the industrial revolution and its effect on big cities like Manchester and, closer to home, Leyland.

‘You better be-leaf it’: Magic, mazes and micropubs at Worden Autumn Market

Temperatures may have fallen in recent weeks but Leylanders’ spirits couldn’t help but be lifted over the weekend as they flocked to a special artisan market.

Hundreds of residents from around South Ribble descended on Worden Park in Leyland on Sunday 28 October for South Ribble Borough Council’s chill-defying ‘Worden Autumn Market’.
