South Ribble Together Roadshow

The first South Ribble Together Roadshow has now completed its first tour around the borough. Updates on future South Ribble Together Roadshows will be posted on this webpage, our Community Hub Facebook pages and South Ribble Borough Council social media accounts.

Taking place over a three week period in February 2024 and March 2024, we brought a range of partners to you, to provide support for your home, health and work and were able reach as many residents as possible by moving our advice bus across the borough to the following places:

  • Wade Hall (The Place)
  • Tesco Extra, Leyland
  • Moss Side
  • Morrisons, Leyland
  • Kingsfold Community Centre, Penwortham
  • Tesco, Penwortham
  • Much Hoole Village Hall
  • St Andrews Church Hall, Longton
  • Food Warehouse Car Park, Bamber Bridge
  • Penwortham Cricket Club
  • The Base Community Centre, Broadfield
  • Conservative Club Car Park, Lostock Hall
  • St Mary's Community Centre, Leyland

Residents who visited our advice bus were able to access support from partners such as Progress Housing, Progress Futures, Citizens Advice, Credit Union and our own Social Prescribing Team and more. We were able to sign residents up to various courses with Lancashire Adult Learning and UDevelop CIC to learn practical ways of help, as well as learn about the great benefits of using advice services like Credit Union and Citizens Advice.

South Ribble Together

The council has a Social Prescribing Team who are there to support you and build confidence to manage your own health and wellbeing and address any other issues that may be impacting your day to day life.

You can speak with a member of our team who will be able to understand if our service could help you, or whether we may be able to put you in touch with other services who are better placed to help.

The support we provide is free, confidential and personalised support that starts with you and guided by you. Once you have contacted us, someone will be in touch with you for a chat to get to know what we can help you with, from there we will sort out an appointment and support going forward. We want to support you in a way that works for you, so you will have the choice over if you wish to have your appointments over the phone or in person.

Here is an example of some of the issues we can support with:

  • money worries
  • housing issues
  • isolation / loneliness
  • employment / new skills
  • diet / exercise
  • mental health and wellbeing
